The action takes place in a comedy club where four stand-up comedians (some up-and-coming, some down on their luck) try to make a living.   Get a glimpse at their lives, the competition between them as a studio talent scout comes to the club, and the jockeying for position with the club's owner.   An added bonus is that each comic performs stand-up material that comments on the musical's story and on real life events. The lively score is a blend of rock, pop, blues, gospel and rap.
